#Lesser of #Evils #Politics - #Everything has a #Spectrum!
Everything has a spectrum. From the measurement of the sun's energy or a planets chemical makeup using a spectrograph or spectrometer - to where someone falls in the political spectrum.

Could be a linear or curved line, such as the Bell Curve used statistical analysis.My title states that everything falls within a spectrum - including politics. And if you really think about it - it's a solid, timeless truth.Let's begin with a phrase I often use to convince radical folks on the extreme left to vote for the Centrist candidate in recent presidential elections - who have already won their primaries. The phrase is - lesser of evils.Many who think they are clever will say that evil is evil and therefore there can be no lesser of evils. Wrong! Even the Bible has the Seven Deadly Sins in a certain order. Our own justice system is built upon the logical spectrum concept. There are several degrees of murder. If someone kills in a passion crime - their sentence is usually less than if a stranger kills someone.However, receiving justice in our USA system is often based upon whether or not you can afford a good lawyer and or bail. White collar crimes that rip off/wipe out average citizens in the theft of millions of dollars get small, if any jail sentences in fancy federal penitentiaries where they can play golf - and/or a slap on the wrist fine that still leaves them rich when they get out. Whereas an average poor/working class person of color can go to jail for 2-3 years for stealing a slice of pizza because they are hungry in a rich country that doesn't care about them or their plight. In the same country that actually had a lot to do with creating the desperate food snatching situation - with its systemic racism based on its long history of slavery and disenfranchisement against people of color by the white elite hegemony.So evil or bad acts of behavior do fall within a spectrum. And if you are really being honest - all of us are sinners. Even the sweetest grandmothers occasionally may judge someone in their minds based on unfair prejudices or biases, as we all do - daily! Judgement is a sin according to many religions - so?Yet actions speak louder than words in both good and bad acts - so unless we act on our bad thoughts - they don't really count, but nevertheless we should always be aware and shoo shoo that little negative racist judgemental demon off our shoulders when it whispers bull shit in our ears. Better check yourself before you wreck yourself - as a rapper once said.Finally, until we fix our broken quasi-Democracy, which is basically a corporate duopoly with an undemocratic electoral system, we are often forced to choose the lesser of evils!Yes, it is a bummer and hopefully someday we will have true representational Democracy where every citizen's vote really counts and we get rid of the antiquated electoral system, unfair gerrymandering, and enact a National Vote day with ranked choice voting and plenty of easy access to many voting stations, and with options like voting by mail or computer and no more flooding monies from super PACs or corporate lobbyists revolving doors in DC etc etc! We know how to fix it - the will and citizens demanding it is what is needed.All that being said - with elections in the important electoral swing states coming down to a few thousand votes in the last few elections - every vote counts! (Ohio, Pennsylvania, Arizona, Wisconsin, Florida, Michigan & North Carolina).So if you live in these states and in the 2020 election are planning to... 1) waste a vote for hopeless causes like the Green or Libertarian Parties (for now) or 2) Not vote all because you're so pure (not true) that you can't stomach the lesser of evils, centrist presidential contender - then you have actually voted for the more evil of evils and deserve whatever happens to you and your family if he (trump) is reelected.Our country has been down this path before with the close election in 2000 between Bush Jr and Gore - where Bush was selected by the Supreme Court after the Florida voting count debacle. Bush lost the popular vote but won the electoral because of a conservative leaning Supreme Court - not the American Democratic system choosing a leader. Other reasons were wasted votes on third party candidates and mostly because of the lazy, pathetic 50% of eligible voters who never vote at all!Bush Jr was the worst president in our country's history until Trump - who also won a narrow electoral victory and lost the popular vote by millions! Bush led us into an unnecessary war with Iraq based on trumped up lies so he and his truly evil VP Cheney could reap fortunes off the oil flow and government contracts via the energy corporation Haliburton. Twenty long years later and thousands of US soldiers killed, Hundreds of thousands with PTSD, a suicide every 24 hours, half a million innocent Iraqi civilian slaughtered, trillions of US tax dollars added to the national debt and the entire Middle East destabilized! All this because of a sizable percentage of voters who could have tipped the election to Gore could not bring them selves to vote for the centrist choice! It was Al Gore by the way who was later responsible for waking up the masses in the Western world to the Global Warming crisis via his Academy award winning documentary An Inconvenient Truth! Imagine if he had won instead - no war in Iraq and most likely a major move toward clean energy - when the timing really mattered!Now jump ahead to our current realty shit show nightmare called the Trump Presidency, where our country is the shit-hole he once used to describe other poor countries - because of his horrible handling of the Corona Virus pandemic - our citizens are not allowed to to travel to Europe or Canada as I write this in the summer of 2020! All other advanced industrial countries have flattened their Corona Virus curves - got it somewhat in control - but not here in the MAGA Moron USA! Here it is sky rocketing as I write this 6 months into the Pandemic! It is literally sickening.And guess what? Trump won the electoral college by a very thin margin but lost by 2.5 million actual popular votes! Now imagine if Hillary Clinton, the Centrist candidate won? Anyone with half a brain knows she would have handled this crisis 100% better then our stupid buffoon president Trump!Let me preface by saying I was and still am a Bernie Sanders supporter but I am also an adult who knows how the world works and know that things can and do get a lot worse when the truly evil candidate wins versus the lesser of evil candidates. So I voted for Hillary as I will now vote for Biden - even though I still voted for Sanders in the primaries here in NY so as to give him power at the Democratic convention and keep the progressive fires burning beneath Biden's feet until the last minute. I also would like to see Liz Warren, one of the hardest working progressive leaders in DC be his VP pick.I thought past recent elections were important but this one coming up in 2020 is the most critical - not only in my life but in the history of our country! Why you may ask? Because I really believe that if Trump wins again we will become an autocratic state and our fragile Democracy will be killed on his watch. Then we will be no different than Russia or China where freedoms, justice and Democracy do not even exist! This is the crucial choice we face for reals yo!So please - put away (for now) your unrealistic radical idealism and stubborn American natures and get off your couches and vote for Biden and all Democrats to take control of congress to move our country in the right direction before we all go off the dark cliff - all because so many are extremists on both sides or could not be bothered to vote etc.There is so much at stake and you will not even know until it's too late because you... 1) did not vote or 2) wasted a vote on an unrealistic 3rd party candidate.All of life is a spectrum - lesser of evils is the best we can do right now so vote smart or else we are all doomed!God Bless this human made mess!
